Durham Regional Police are currently on the lookout for an individual who has removed his GPS monitoring device and absconded, violating the terms of his release order.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday at approximately 11:20 p.m. when law enforcement officers responded to a residence located in the vicinity of Delaney Dr. and Westney Rd. in Ajax. They were alerted to the removal of a GPS monitoring device by the accused.

The suspect, who had been subject to a release order that included specific conditions such as wearing a GPS monitoring device and residing with a designated surety, made the decision to tamper with the device and flee the area. Presently, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities have identified the wanted individual as Michael Nanton-Madden, a 28-year-old resident of Ajax. He is facing two charges of failing to comply with a release order.

Law enforcement officials caution the public against approaching the suspect and urge anyone who spots him to immediately contact the police. The safety of the community is of paramount importance, and cooperation from residents is crucial in aiding the apprehension of the suspect.
