An 18-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the shocking theft of a 2022 Porsche Cayenne, during which the vehicle’s owner was run over in a dramatic incident captured on video. The theft occurred in broad daylight near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue in Mississauga on September 6 at around 2 p.m.
According to Peel Regional Police, the suspect, identified as Sarah Badshaw from Brampton, attended the victim’s residence after responding to an Auto Trader ad for the luxury SUV. In the video footage released by authorities, Badshaw is seen speaking to the victim, stating that she is waiting for her father and is interested in inspecting the vehicle.
The video cuts to the suspect seated in the driver’s seat of the Porsche. As the engine starts, the victim attempts to intervene by getting into the car but is forced to the rear of the vehicle. In a dangerous turn of events, the suspect reverses at high speed, striking the victim and fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle.
The victim, who has chosen to remain unnamed, reported injuries to his elbow, hands, and legs. He has since sought ongoing medical attention due to the injuries sustained during the incident.
On September 19, Sarah Badshaw voluntarily turned herself in to Peel Regional Police. She is now facing four charges, including:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
- Fraud-related offenses
Police also revealed that Badshaw has a history of fraud-related offenses in the Peel region and is wanted by other Greater Toronto Area (GTA) police services in connection with separate investigations.
