Toronto’s 43 Division has successfully carried out two major operations—Project Community and Project Springboard—resulting in 48 arrests, 406 criminal charges, and the seizure of 24 firearms. These initiatives were launched in response to a spike in gun violence in the area.

Project Community, which involved collaboration among various police units, led to 18 arrests and 109 charges, along with the recovery of six firearms and three stolen vehicles. Despite these gains, the division continued to face high rates of gun crime, prompting the launch of Project Springboard. This second operation, executed between April and June 2023, resulted in 30 additional arrests, 297 charges, and the seizure of 18 more firearms.

The charges range from illegal firearm possession and drug trafficking to breaches of probation and youth crimes. These operations demonstrate a concerted effort by Toronto police to curb gun violence through targeted actions and community collaboration.
