A man wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 30-year-old Toronto man has been apprehended in the United Kingdom. The suspect, 24-year-old Adrian Gordon Jr., was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant following the tragic incident that occurred in May of this year.
Toronto police responded to a call in the early morning hours of May 22, 2024, in the area of Isabella and Jarvis streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with severe injuries lying on the ground behind a building. The victim, later identified as 30-year-old Jesse Tubbs of Mississauga, was rushed to a trauma center in life-threatening condition. Despite medical efforts, Tubbs succumbed to his injuries on May 26.
Following the incident, the Toronto Police Service issued a Canada-wide warrant for Adrian Gordon Jr., who was identified as the primary suspect in Tubbs’ murder. Gordon was located and arrested in Luton, England, on August 19, 2024. He is currently being held by authorities in the UK, awaiting extradition to Canada to face charges of first-degree murder.
Toronto Police have expressed their gratitude to the RCMP, Interpol, the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency, and the public for their cooperation during the investigation, which was led by the Toronto Police Centralized Shooting Response Team and Homicide Unit.
