A 37-year-old man from Etobicoke, Mohammed Abdals El-Sheikh, has been charged with several counts of voyeurism and criminal harassment after allegedly taking photos up women’s skirts and dresses at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Burlington. The incidents, which occurred on multiple occasions this summer, have prompted Halton Regional Police to seek further information from the public, as they believe there may be additional victims.

Series of Incidents Over the Summer

Halton police were first alerted to the situation on June 25, when they received reports of a man at the Shoppers Drug Mart on New Street in Burlington allegedly taking pictures of unsuspecting women. According to the police, the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, leaving investigators with few immediate leads.

However, a subsequent investigation conducted by the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau uncovered a pattern of similar incidents. Police identified a total of seven separate acts of voyeurism that took place on June 25, July 8, and August 7. In most cases, the victims were unaware that they were being photographed.

Arrest and Charges

On Thursday, following the investigation, police arrested Mohammed Abdals El-Sheikh and charged him with seven counts of voyeurism and one count of criminal harassment. He is currently being held in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing in Milton.
