Toronto police have arrested and charged a bartender following a reported sexual assault at a hotel bar in downtown Toronto. The incident occurred on October 14th when a hotel guest visited the bar around 6 p.m.
According to police, the bartender, who has been identified as 35-year-old Manish Patil from Waterloo, served a drink to the victim, referring to it as “my special drink.” After consuming the drink, the victim blacked out and was subsequently sexually assaulted by the bartender.
Patil was arrested on Wednesday and charged with sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Authorities have expressed concerns that there may be additional victims, as Patil might have worked at other hotels in the downtown area.
The police are urging anyone with information or anyone who believes they may have been a victim to come forward and contact them.
