Another suspect has been apprehended in connection with the infamous gold heist at Toronto Pearson International Airport last year. According to authorities, Archit Grover, a 36-year-old resident of Brampton, was taken into custody on May 6.
Grover’s arrest came following his arrival in Toronto from India. He faces charges of theft over $5000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense related to the heist.
Grover is also being indicted in the United States for firearm-related charges
The heist itself, which took place on April 17, 2023, saw the theft of an astonishing 6,600 gold bars, each boasting 99.9 percent purity and collectively valued at $20 million. Additionally, CAD 2.5 million in foreign currency was also reported missing.
The incident unfolded shortly after a flight originating from Zurich, Switzerland, touched down at the Toronto airport.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the public watches with anticipation, eager to see justice served in what has been dubbed the largest gold heist in Canadian history.
