In a disturbing incident that took place in Whitby, Ontario, police have apprehended a suspect for indecent exposure in front of minors. The event unfolded on Friday, April 5, 2024, around 4:55 p.m. when officers from the Central West Division responded to a distressing call reporting a sexual offence in the vicinity of Evergreen Drive and Canadian Oaks Drive.
According to reports, a male suspect brazenly exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate behavior in a public area, targeting two female youths. The perpetrator fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, leaving the victims shaken by the encounter. However, one of the courageous youths managed to provide law enforcement with a detailed description of both the suspect and his vehicle, aiding in the subsequent investigation.
Nearly two weeks later, on Friday, April 19th, 2024, the combined efforts of the Central West Division and the Criminal Investigation Bureau successfully identified and apprehended the suspect, Samad ABDUL GHAFFAR, a 30-year-old resident of Oshawa. He has been charged with indecent exposure, a serious offense that underscores the gravity of his actions.
Fortunately, the victims did not suffer any physical harm during the ordeal. However, the incident has undoubtedly left a lasting emotional impact on them and their families.
Despite the arrest, concerns linger as authorities suspect there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. In light of this, police are urging anyone with information to step forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
