Toronto Police have arrested a suspect following the harrowing abduction and assault of a woman. Curtis Beckles, 33, was apprehended on April 4 in connection with the disturbing incident that unfolded on March 31 in Scarborough.
The ordeal began with a frantic call to authorities around noon on March 31, reporting a kidnapping near Kingston Road and Rockwood Drive. Details emerged suggesting the victim was forcibly taken to a nearby residence where she faced attempted sexual assault.
The horror didn’t end there. The victim was then coerced into a vehicle, subjected to further assault during a lengthy drive. But in a stroke of bravery, she managed to escape during a brief stop after about two hours on the road, alerting authorities to her plight.
Thankfully, she received prompt medical attention, with her injuries reported as non-life-threatening.
Beckles now faces a slew of charges, including kidnapping, forcible confinement, sexual assault, and assault causing bodily harm. He’s set to appear in court for a bail hearing on April 11.
