A tow truck driver in Richmond Hill narrowly escaped harm after unknown suspects set his vehicle ablaze in a parking lot. The incident unfolded near Major Mackenzie Drive East and Leslie Street around 5 a.m. on Thursday.
According to York Regional Police, a video captured two suspects carrying jugs of liquid, which they poured onto two trucks in the parking lot.

Subsequently, the suspects threw burning objects at the vehicles, igniting only one of the tow trucks. The fire quickly spread, engulfing the truck and causing damage to a nearby business.
Emergency crews swiftly responded to extinguish the flames, preventing further destruction. Thankfully, despite the tow truck being occupied at the time, the driver managed to exit the vehicle unharmed.
Detailed suspect descriptions are currently unavailable, but police noted that the suspects arrived at the scene in a blue, four-door sedan. Authorities are urging anyone with information or video recordings of the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
