Four residents from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are facing a slew of charges following allegations of cheating at a local casino.

The incident, which unfolded at Pickering Casino Resort, has prompted a joint investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The investigation was initiated on August 3rd after authorities were alerted to suspicions of collusion between a table dealer and a group of players at the Pickering Casino Resort. The subsequent inquiry has led to charges against four individuals, each implicated in the alleged cheating scheme.

Among the accused is 24-year-old Sandeep Sogi, hailing from Scarborough, who is facing a total of nine charges. These include four counts of cheating at play, a serious offense that strikes at the heart of fair gaming practices, and four counts of fraud exceeding $5000, indicating a substantial financial impact.

In addition to Sogi, three others find themselves at the center of the controversy. Sukhvir Singh, 28, from Mississauga, Deepak Kakkar, 30, and Anchhu Kumar, 24, both from Brampton, are each facing a staggering 12 charges. Their charges mirror those against Sogi, encompassing four counts of cheating at play, four counts of fraud exceeding $5000, and four counts of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000.

Following their arrests, the four suspects have been released from custody and are slated to make appearances in an Oshawa courtroom in the near future.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the alleged cheating operation. Those with any additional information are urged to come forward and aid investigators in their pursuit of justice.
