The Toronto Police Service has issued an urgent appeal to the public, seeking assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a serious assault investigation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, around 10 p.m. in the vicinity of Finch Avenue West and Islington Avenue.

According to authorities, the suspect allegedly assaulted and made death threats to both a woman and a teenage girl at their residence. The Toronto Police Service confirmed that the suspect and the victims are known to each other. Following the incident, the suspect managed to evade authorities and fled the area.

More recently, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at approximately 5:14 p.m., the suspect is reported to have returned to the victim’s residence in the Finch Avenue West and Islington Avenue area. During this incident, the suspect allegedly made explicit threats to kill the victim, further intensifying concerns about public safety.

The individual at the center of this investigation has been identified as Franklyn Nelson, aged 38, hailing from Pickering. A detailed description of Nelson has been released by the police. He is described as standing at 5’6″ with a medium build, short hair, a goatee, and brown eyes. A photograph of Nelson has also been made available to aid in the identification process.

The Toronto Police Service is urging anyone with relevant information about Franklyn Nelson’s whereabouts to come forward and provide assistance.
