In a recent development, a 67-year-old man from Toronto is now facing charges following an investigation into a break and enter incident in Markham. The discovery of bags of narcotics during the investigation has added a significant twist to the case.

According to York Regional Police, officers came across the drugs while conducting inquiries related to a break and enter at a storage facility in Markham on November 17th of last year. This unexpected finding led to the initiation of an operation named “Project Dayton.”

During the execution of a search warrant as part of Project Dayton, authorities allegedly uncovered a substantial quantity of illegal substances. The seized items included approximately 23 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, nearly 10,000 MDMA pills, and over 83 kilograms of various chemicals utilized in the production of illicit drugs.

The investigation didn’t stop there. As part of the ongoing efforts, officers also executed warrants at the residence of Van Hien Tang in Toronto on May 31st. It was during this operation that three kilograms of methamphetamine, 900 grams of a crystal form of MDMA, and packaging materials were reportedly seized.

In total, law enforcement confiscated a staggering 26 kilograms of methamphetamine, nearly 10,000 MDMA pills, and close to one kilogram of crystal MDMA. The street value of these illicit substances is estimated to be approximately $2 million.

The arrested individual, Van Hien Tang, is now facing charges in connection with these narcotics-related offenses. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities aiming to uncover more details and potential connections related to this case.
