In an incident that unfolded in Whitby, Durham police apprehended three individuals from Quebec after a high-speed chase and foot pursuit. The suspects were attempting to evade officers when their vehicle made contact with a cruiser and came to a halt. The incident took place on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Consumers Drive and Hopkins Street.
According to the authorities, officers on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the vehicle accelerated at a high speed, leading the police on a chase. Eventually, the vehicle reached a dead-end street, resulting in the collision with a police cruiser.
Following the collision, the three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Police quickly initiated a foot pursuit and successfully apprehended all three suspects.
The individuals have been identified as Adnane Kidia, aged 19, Samy Mahamed, aged 20, and Dariush Kabirinaeini, aged 20, all hailing from Quebec. Each suspect faces a range of charges related to their alleged involvement in the incident.
Adnane Kidia is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Fail to Stop for Police, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence, Possession of an Automobile Master Key, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, and Failure to Comply with a Release Order.
Samy Mahamed is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Possession of an Automobile Master Key, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence, and Failure to Comply with a Release Order.
Dariush Kabirinaeini faces charges of Failure to Comply with a Release Order (three counts), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, and Possession of an Automobile Master Key.
