In a recent incident, two individuals have been apprehended by the York Regional Police following the recovery of two stolen vehicles and the alarming discovery of loaded shotguns.

On the morning of Thursday, May 18, multiple calls reporting a vehicle on fire prompted the authorities to respond promptly to the Denison Street and Markham Road area. Upon arrival, officers identified a blue Honda Civic emitting smoke from its engine compartment. After successfully extinguishing the fire, law enforcement noticed counterfeit license plates, leading them to determine that the vehicle had been stolen. In close proximity, another stolen vehicle was also recovered, according to police reports.

During a thorough search of both cars, law enforcement officers made a startling find – two loaded shotguns concealed within the vehicles.

The York Regional Police have identified the individuals responsible as 37-year-old Daniel Cabarios from Toronto and 41-year-old Glen Young, who currently has no fixed address. Both suspects were promptly taken into custody.

The charges against the two men are extensive, including two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, among other offenses.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the course of these events.
