In a recent incident that took place in Peel Region, two individuals from Oshawa are now facing multiple gun charges.
The incident unfolded when bicycle patrol officers stopped a group of people at a park located in the vicinity of Lakeshore Road and Tennyson Avenue in Mississauga. Initially conducting a liquor license act investigation, the officers made a startling discovery—a loaded handgun in the possession of one of the individuals.
The individuals in question, Ahsan Khan (23 years old) and Mohsin Khan (20 years old), both residents of Oshawa, have been charged with several firearm offenses. These charges include possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Additionally, three other individuals were also implicated and charged in connection with the incident.
Hassan Aziz, a 21-year-old man from Bowmanville, has been charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Similarly, Moosa Jogiyat, a 22-year-old man from Toronto, faces charges of obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.
Lastly, Sufyan Jogiyat, a 23-year-old man from Cambridge, has been charged with obstructing a peace officer.
The apprehension of these individuals and the subsequent charges laid against them highlight the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to ensure public safety.
By swiftly intervening and confiscating a loaded firearm, the bicycle patrol officers prevented a potentially dangerous situation from escalating.
The legal proceedings will now determine the outcome for the accused individuals, emphasizing the significance of respecting firearm laws and regulations in the community.
