Eight individuals have been apprehended and are facing charges in relation to a kidnapping case in Brampton, as reported by the police.
The incident occurred on February 15, 2023, around 9:30 p.m., when two young victims visited a residence in Brampton and were forcibly held against their will. They were later released from captivity.
Yesterday, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the police executed search warrants at two residences in Brampton and one in Georgetown. Alongside the arrests, law enforcement confiscated various items, including a handgun, ammunition, vehicles, and other possessions linked to the alleged offenses.
The following suspects have been charged and are currently detained for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton:
- Danish Thakur, a 24-year-old resident of Brampton, faces charges of kidnapping, robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, discharging a firearm, and assault with a weapon.
- Daljeet Singh, a 28-year-old resident of Brampton, has been charged with kidnapping and robbery.
- Harmanpreet Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Brampton, is facing charges of kidnapping and robbery.
- Snowerpreet Khehra, a 25-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been charged with kidnapping, robbery, and possession of a firearm without authorization.
- Komalpreet Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been charged with one count of possessing a firearm without authorization.
- Saheyad Kang, a 21-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been charged with one count of possessing a firearm without authorization.
- Arundeep Singh, a 24-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been charged with one count of possessing a firearm without authorization.
- Maninderjit Singh, a 26-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been charged with one count of possessing a firearm without authorization.
