In a concerning incident last week, Toronto police have launched an investigation into an attempted child abduction at Pleasant Public School, located near Steeles Avenue West and Bathurst Street on May 12.

During the lunch hour, four boys were playing outside when an unidentified man approached them, setting off alarm bells. Shockingly, the man allegedly enticed the children with promises of candy if they accompanied him to his van, although no van was spotted in the vicinity.

Realizing the danger, the quick-thinking boys promptly fled the scene and promptly reported the incident to their teacher, who acted swiftly to involve the authorities.

Authorities have released a description of the suspect to aid in their investigation. The man is believed to be in his early teens or early 20s, with dark skin and curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants, running shoes, and carrying a peach-colored backpack. The suspect was also seen riding a black mountain bike.

The Toronto Police Service urges anyone with information related to this incident to contact them at 416-808-3200. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477 (TIPS) or through their website at www.222tips.com.
