  1. On Sunday, May 14, 2023, around 1:15 p.m., a woman was walking along the trails at the south end of Chine Drive when a man emerged from the brush. He engaged in a verbal interaction with the woman before sexually assaulting her. The suspect was last seen fleeing towards Brimley Road.
  2. The next day, Monday, May 15, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., another woman was walking on the same trails. The same man approached her and engaged in a verbal interaction that made her uncomfortable. Sensing danger, she quickly fled the area.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that a similar incident occurred prior to these events:

On Friday, April 15, 2023, a woman was in Scarboro Crescent Park when the suspect approached her. They had an unsettling interaction that made her feel uncomfortable. The man proceeded to follow her as she hurriedly left the park.

In a significant development, the authorities have apprehended Brenden Herman, a 28-year-old resident of Toronto, in connection with these incidents. Herman faces charges of Sexual Assault and Criminal Harassment. His court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the New Ontario Court of Justice – Toronto, located at 10 Armoury Street, specifically in courtroom 205.

Investigators are expressing concern that there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward.
