Three teenage boys, aged 14, 15, and 17, are facing multiple charges after being investigated for two robberies.
The first robbery, a carjacking, took place last Thursday in North York, near Finch Avenue West and Weston Road. According to the police, the suspects approached an elderly victim who was sitting in their car, and one of them pointed a gun at the victim, demanding the keys. The suspects forcefully removed the victim from the car, tore their shirt, and took their necklace before fleeing in the stolen vehicle.
The second robbery occurred the next day at a pharmacy in Vaughan, near Highway 7 and Marycroft Avenue. Three suspects in the stolen vehicle entered the drug store, where two of them armed with guns went behind the counter and demanded narcotics from the staff. After obtaining a quantity of drugs, the suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Shortly after, Toronto police spotted the stolen vehicle with three male suspects inside driving at a high speed. The driver allegedly hit a hydro pole before coming to a stop, and the police from 31 Division took the three suspects into custody.
Investigators claim to have recovered stolen narcotics and a sawed-off shotgun.
The accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
